Internet Setup Assistant (8.0)

  1. Double-click the Hard Drive icon.
  2. Double-click the Internet folder.


  3. Double-click the Internet setup assistant icon.


  4. Click the Update button.
  5. Click the right arrow button to continue.
  6. Choose the Add Internet configuration button.
  7. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  8. In the What would you like to name this configuration text box, type BICnet.
  9. For the How will you be connecting to the internet button, choose Modem.
  10. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  11. Select your modem from the list.
  12. If you do not see your modem listed, select next closest modem.
  13. Select the port you want to connect to.
  14. Select the tone button.
  15. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  16. In the What is the phone number for this configuration text box, type your local access telephone number.
  17. If you are in an office and need to dial a number to access a telephone line, type it in front of your telephone number immediately followed by a comma. (For example: 9, or if you wish to disable call waiting, type *70 before the telephone number, immediately followed by a comma.)
  18. In the What name do you use with this service text box, type your username.
  19. In the What is your password text box, type your password.
  20. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  21. Select No.
  22. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  23. In the What is the DNS address text box, type 199.190.243.100 and press the return key. Type 199.190.243.211 directly under the first set of numbers.
  24. In the What is the Domain Name (or host name) for this configuration text box, type bicnet.net
  25. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  26. In the What is the e-mail address for this configuration text box, type your username@bicnet.net
  27. In the What is the password for this configuration text box, type your password.
  28. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  29. In the What is the e-mail account for this configuration text box, type your username@mail.bicnet.net.
  30. In the What is the e-mail host for this configuration text box, type mail.bicnet.net
  31. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  32. In the What is the news group host for this configuration text box, type news.bicnet.net
  33. Click the right arrow button to continue.


  34. Select Check the connection box when finished box.
  35. Click the Go Ahead button to connect.


  36. Once connected launch a web browser, email client or other internet application.
