Error: "The modem does not exist, is not plugged in, or is out of service." #3

The modem type specified in the Modems control panel does not match the modem specified in the Dial-up Networking connection.

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.


  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.


  3. Click the BICnet icon.


  4. From the File menu, choose Properties.
  5. From the Connect using list, choose your modem.
  6. Click the Server type button.


  7. Uncheck Log on to network.
  8. Uncheck NetBEUI.
  9. Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
  10. Click the OK button.


  11. Click the OK button.
