Windows NT 4.0 RAS Installation

Make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed on your system.


1.) From the Start Button select Programs, Accessories, Dial-Up Networking. Depending on how far you have gone in your Network setup, you may or may not have to install Dial-Up Networking at this time. If Remote Access Service (RAS) has already been installed, you may skip to the configuration section. If not, you will see the following screen:

2.) Click the Install button to install RAS. Windows NT will automatically copy the files needed from the CD-ROM. You will then be presented with a window showing a list of modems that are currently installed on your machine:

3.) Select or install the appropriate modem, then press OK. Click Configure.

4.) Select Dial out only. Click OK.

5.) You should see the screen from step 3. Click Network. Select TCP/IP Only. Press OK. Windows NT will copy more files from the CD. Windows NT must be restarted for the new settings to take place.

6.)You are now ready to configure a dial-up connection.
